Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.
Just to say hi to all
I've took the plunge and joined up to add the odd comment.
What a grand bunch of groovy folks you all are!
I've not laughed and been so entertained for weeks...months.. years! till I stumbled upon here.
Bright blessings to you all.

A very good year, it was more by luck than design hee hee. We had a teacher who used to tell us we all turned out the way we did as we were "born in bad year" ie 1969 with all our parents taking drugs, bonking like bunnies & the vietnam war... might be some something to that, ha ha(I'm not being serious )

I don't know, I was really drunk at the time. I think it only held about 10 people. Or was it five?
Might be the lounge of The Shakespeare... that's pretty tiny! When was it you were in Durham? (they do keep adding pubs on and refurbishing some of them)

Sometime around 1983/ 84. A friend of mine was at University there and I used to visit her some weekends. We took a trip out to Newcastle one night. The only time I've ever queued to get into a pub. Whitley Bay in winter was another bad idea.

I can vouch for that...freezing cold I'm thinking! Newcastle used to be a great place in the 80's...it's a bit sad now the Mayfair has gone, only the Uni now to see bands
Still there's a couple of decent pubs!
