In my opinion, from the stuff I’ve seen from this tour, he sounds clearer and better than he has in 20+ years.
Perhaps it’s the lack of chug (I miss it) drowning him out but I don’t think so.
All I can think of is that he’s really cut down on/maybe even stopped with the deathsticks.
Anyone else?

I've thought about that one too, but then I saw the obligatory fag on some recent festival gig.
Still, vaping may be the way now. Those recent health scares may have forced the old curmudgeon to adapt with the times.
If so, he's by now noticed an uptick in lung capacity and stamina. Yet, I doubt nicotine itself has gone away.

I just saw him in Brooklyn and he definitely had a cigarette during one of the songs. But from what I hear one cig for a whole concert is not a lot for him?
This was my first time seeing TSOM live but I thought he sounded pretty good! Much better than I was expecting from some of the youtube videos I've seen from the past year or so.

I think, respectfully to all involved, what's actually happening is that Ben's Eldritch impersonation has gotten better. Von always seems to run out of breath right at the second Ben steps away from the mic.
(This is not a complaint or a criticism, I'm being facetious)

I dunno. I can't see the stage (ever), but I had to have a fake cigarette during one of the songs. Mother Russia, I think? I was too tired to dance to it and I lay my head back on the rails of the riser next to me and puffed a pretend ciggie and gazed at the celing. I wouldnt've made it through the show without it.
