Spooooky....JUST mentioned Monkey Boots in the 'other place'. Used to buy size 5's and bash em up with a hammer to fit me plates of meat (size 7) in them - owt to avoid VAT.
then wear inside out terry towelling flourescent socks (odd naturally) and turn them over the cuff of the boot....all rather dashing if I say so myself.
Boxing boots were also de rigeur (mmnnn red addidas ones)
