"Whats your opinion about the music from the Sisterhood?" Please, choose: bad or good or very good! And a few words why your like or hate the Sisterhood. I'm just curious! It' my favorite band. And "Giving ground" is my favourite song, it's better than Sisters version of "Giving Ground". I hope this is not an declaration of war to all the Sisters fans.
I asked W. Hussey (m*****n) in person, this question. He loves the Sisterhood, His favourite song is "JIHAD"(Five Zero Zero Zero).
A question for all the Sisters fans!!!!!!!!

I was actually thinking about this after purchasing the Giving Ground 7" recently and, yes, I admit that Gift is one of my favourite musical outputs from Mr Eldritch.
Colours is one of my favourite tracks (both the Sisterhood and Sisters of Mercy versions).

I agree on this 100% ... + Giving Ground is a classic ...Colours is one of my favourite tracks (both the Sisterhood and Sisters of Mercy versions).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Because you posted this during the holidays when a lot of us are straight into the pub after work!Marc wrote:I think there are not so many Sisterhood fans among us?

I like it, although I'm still looking for it on CD at a reasonable price. I also need to find a copy that doesn't have a scratch in the record during Rain From Heaven.
I have two copies, but it doesn't seem to matter which way I do it I always end up playing the same damn record with the scratch in!

I got my CD from America via eBay. Can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but I do remember it was an absolute bargain (something like a fiver including postage from the US!).

I like it more than Vision Thing, less so than FLA & Floodland.
Definitely ahead of its time.

pretty much with Frankie Boy on this one, it was a major let down, at least it's better than SSVFrancis wrote:Ahead of its time my arse.

The Sisterhood:
Giving Ground RSV - So.. beautifully.. in a synth way.. rawk! (Yeah, I know, I'm drunk.)
Giving Ground AV - I'm not really a fan of instrumentals, but if you want to sing along...
Jihad - If it was shorter, you could dance to it.
Colours - Not really. WAY too long, and I don't really see the point of the Sisters cover.
Giving Ground 12" - Not as good as RSV, too long and with removed lyrics. Still a good song though.
Finland Red, Egypt White - One of my favourites.
Rain From Heaven - Absobloodylutely brilliant.
OVERALL - The Sisterhood are the best. They don't need Eldritch, they should just get back together and make another single without him. I'm sure Alan Vega can sort out drums (if Mr Rev is free).
----
SSV:
Nice - Shockingly enough, an inspiration to a lot of my work in English class. A poem based on it stunned my class into a scared silence.
Shut The F**k Up - I like, I like.
Two In The Nose - I don't like. Sorry.
Bad Vultee - Reminds me of Finland Red, Egypt White. I quite like it.
Gone - The best techno.
Drugsar - First SSV track I heard. It's too long.
Highschool - Now THIS is a good one. Did they remove the drums from this? Either way, after the first 2'40", when the chanting starts, it's actually a good song.
Feel No Pain - I'm reminded of Train.
Go Figure - No. Just no.
Knife, Paper, Stone And Guns - Well, it ends on a good song.
OVERALL - For techno: Great. On the whole: Could be better.

I did have a litre and a half or so of cider last night at a friend's (spread over about 4 or 5 hours with Monty Python). I was thinking of posting on Heartland or alt.gothic, but then I realised that everyone posts on either/both whilst in that state or worse, and I'm one of the few people who posts under the influence of no chemicals (not even the ones that are meant to be there). Except caffiene.
So I decided against it and went to sleep.

Gift was one of the earliest Eldritch things I purchased. I like it, it gets better as time goes by.
