THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Well, yeah, but lambchop's is (to me) the best cover of anything ever anyway... So, that would be a bit hard, isn't it

It's good, but it doesn't have the same ambient atmosphere I get from the original version.
Why did you cut out the woodwind solo? That was my favourite part of the original song, it hits me in the back of the neck every time.

Since I couldn't hear this song I can only talk about Lambchop's cover. Which is great indeed, no doubt. Today I surprised someone with this song and he said the same.

i'm not a fan of the original but your cover was NOT too bad actually.
my favorite covered sisters song is lucretia by dan swanö.
it's raw and heavy. and his voice sounds pretty good too.

I liked the guitars. I quite liked the voice, judging from the other tracks anyway, but not so much on this track for some reason. The backing vocals on All Souls Rising were very nice, though, and would sound interesting on Torch too.

To be honest I didn't like it much.
Sorry.
I like covers which do something to the tune rather than essentially recreate it just by different people. S Club Seven's Don't Stop Moving was magnificently covered by The Beautiful South, Emma by some band or other etc, this version of Torch doesn't move me.
Rock it up!

I don't like the original, and this cover is slightly worse
