bloody databases

For you to give feedback to the Heartland moderators. Wish lists, fault reports, etc. You may get an answer, you may not. As in all things, it largely depends on how nicely you ask the people in charge... You're welcome.

seems we had a few minutes of downtime there.

just "on hold" with the hosting company to try and work out what happened.

sorry about that :|

so, lets just say i am looking for new hosting... i know this has come up before and a few people have mentioned various things to me, but lets just say that now i am really looking ;)

these are the requirements i have:

NEEDS:
apache with php & mysql
2 or more mysql databases with no limits on db size
500 mb diskspace
10 gb per month bandwidth
the ability to schedule and run cron jobs (including scheduled jobs that run .sh files)
full access to the raw webserver logs
htaccess-based directory security
gd2
perl
unlimited domains & subdomains (if not unlimited then "a lot" will suffice)
unlimited pop3 mailboxes (if not unlimited then "a lot" will suffice)
unlimited mail forwarding (if not unlimited then "a lot" will suffice)
webmail & pop3 access to email

NICE TO HAVES:
apache mod-rewrite
mailing list (majordomo? mailman? something like that)
streaming media

at some point i'd transfer all my websites over there, along with the domain name hosting and forwards/redirects i have setup.

there's probably more if i were to sit down and think about it, but thats the crux of what i have now, and a couple of things i wish i had.

anyone point me in the direction of good hosting that can provide that for a decent price? :notworthy:

We have a server from here but it's probably not what you're looking for as it's more hands on and far less user friendly. It really is all about command prompts.
