Nineteen Ninety Five And Nowhere : 2nd of december 2007

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I think I'd prefer the instrumental version of the album, IF I'd go and hear it.
Give someone else's vocals a shot, for christ's sake.

Nothing on the album was contributed by Eldritch except some false hope. And Gary's vocals are pretty damn good. I've only heard Black Eyed Faith, but it was that good, that I think I may just have to buy this version. :notworthy:

Hey, I love VOC's Red Skies... Very well done by Marx, I just thought, had the album been written by :von:+Marx and sung by Marx, I would have wanted to hear the music before anything else. You know how much I like new Sisters material...
It's good to be back

i'm pretty sure he means the 'pretty black dots' album - http://www.garymarx.com/product.htm - not the 1995 one :)
Also a fine, fine record--though some people here ought to be warned that it is not an attempt at sounding like any of his earlier bands. It's just a batch of very good songs.

He sent me a CD single as well when I ordered it. A fine man.

I have only heard Open Season, a fine track. I'll be buying this one for sure.

I should mention that a heartlander is behind this release. If I'm not mistaken d-monic is run by one of our number.

And any rabid Sisters fans who haven't heard this perhaps need to be warned not to expect FALAA part 2.[/quote]

I'm expecting Watch and Home of the Hit-Men part 2.

Not to be overly pedantic, but in terms of "Original Sisters", Marx' involvement gives it as much credibility as Gift / Floodland / Vision Thing. Why would Andrew need to be involved to make that connection?

Back on topic, I'm definitely looking forward to hearing what Choque's input has done for the record. The original quality (i.e. decent) negates any possibility of a "Lucretia" pre- and post-Steinmann transformation, but it'll still be interesting to hear ;)

no chance that Anne-Marie got involved in the project by any chance?! (okay, so this is the wrong forum for that debate....)
