there was one copy, sitting up on the top shelf behind the counter in the old Eastern Bloc, before Madchester arrived [88-89?], i didn't even see it - too busy looking at Smiths fanzines. It was my friend who pointed it outpaul wrote:That's a "little" less than what I paid for it. ..paint it black wrote: glad i got my WEA box set for £50 from Eastern Bloc now
Did they have other copies?
i collect DD and BE because over the year I got lucky and found them with people who just didn't love them anymore

I know Robin has a couple of 'm too. He does have (or had) the acetates AFAIK. He was also co-writer for an article in a vinyl collectors book. I still have the article (it's called "F is for Fake" or something like that ...) Nice one, although too little credits for Uncle Sister though ...cardoman wrote: So you are very lucky... Nice

Acetates are test pressings of the record before they go into production. They are pretty fragile and only good for a few plays. I think I'm right with this!

Acetates are not for playing purposes, only for collecting
I know , besides Robin, that Y from Canada had a couple of them. I don't know if he had acetates from DD, but definately from some other Sisters records. Extremely rare and very expensive on the market.

The seller bought that copy from me a couple of years ago so I hope you take good care of it! I bought this and another copy at a record-fair in Stockholm in 1990, I payed 50 swedish kronas for them together (~ 4 euros)
Hope you'll like it, it's really nice!

I don't think that in 20 years anyone is interested in the Sissies or their bootlegs.Izzy HaveMercy wrote:I did years ago. I have over a hundred Sissies bootlegs stacked away as trust fund/possible college money

A second morgage on your house would be a better option.

Well done...@Paul: wouldn't say that. Remember the day that Herman (Brood) jumped... I should be lucky if I had a Brood now. For me it's the pleasure of collecting...Izzy HaveMercy wrote:I did years ago. I have over a hundred Sissies bootlegs stacked away as trust fund/possible college money

falco's Rock Me Amadeus starts with an intro in the same vein, giving a timeline of Amadeus' life and it ends with the line I quoted
