I can't recall many doctor-related issues in live situations that would fit into that statement. Besides you still can get replacement for most components very cheap on the second hand market. I bought my Akai a few years ago for <100€ in top condition and there's still stuff available in very good condition (cd-rom/zip drives..) that should last another decade or two - everything pretty cheap since noone feel the need to dig into this kind of vintage technology.
Of course there's no doubt that software solutions are way more portable but tbh I don't know how they could manage to fill three huge 19inch rack trolly's with stuff you can easy fit into a third of these rack units - probably a bit showcase there

The man himself said in a radio interview with a NZ station (back when the original NZ - OZ gigs were still on a few months ago) that they now use Cubase. Out of the mouths of, eh,... Never mind.

The many faces of the good Doktor, or the 'Beatz Bratz', to use the technical collective term. Not by any means an exhaustive round up here, but these are probably the Dok's prettiest incarnations. For me personally though, the more anonymous he gets visually, the better he sounds.
