THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.
There are nice bits to both of these (and the usual problems for Sisters covers).
I always enjoyed Funhouse and their version of B+S is no worse than the original, but not as good as their brilliant cover of Depeche Mode's Never Let Me Down Again which still sounds great today :
For a strange reason when i listened to the solo my thought was: "Hey, if Iron Maiden played a tribute to Sisters, that's the most close to do it!"
'Are we the Baddies?'...
"Someday! Someday, everything you need, is just gonna fall out of the sky..." -A.E. Reading 1991
"Don't forget that most of the judges in witches trials had harvard degrees."
Mexicans Inovercy back with another stab at a Sisters classic. The guitarist seems to have Marian sussed but the vocals are still a little, erm, unreliable. These bands are great evidence for the defence when people tell me can't sing !

She's back with another of her many cool cover versions - Lisa King doing Marian. If the rumoured/hoped for US tour does come off and needs another mid-gig break (he's not getting any younger), he could do worse than give Lisa a bell.

Oh hell, bring me The Doktor ... ...
KTAOABC os one of the worst band names i've ever heard
what's their story? are they a parody band, or are they non-native english speakers who don't realise what a shi*te name it is?

... their name is apparently the best about them, for there is the word "cat" in it ... ...

Actually i like the idea of "Heartland" played as acoustic cover that KTAOABC provide in this tube vid.
And it could be much better if this was been done under . Eldritch's voice could send that song to another dimension in acoustic performance

I think we've had this discussion on HL before. I want to say it's a reference to witchcraft or the like. Not that it improves in that light, mind you.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Indeed, hardly the name to drop on that all-important first date when that hot new potential partner asks what kind of music you're into, or when your elderly granny asks what you spent that HMV voucher on.

Basically, yes. Still, I think it would come better with The Doktor ...
apart from the fact the Eldritch's voice has always send that song to another dimension in acoustic performance.
The song itself has from the beginning brought another dimension of acoustic performance! That's why people cover it. Or kiss the anus of a black cat ... ...
Okaaaaay, can we stop the KTAOABC bashing now, puh-leaze?
I'm not too fond of their name either, but it is a well respected alternative band from Belgium and I can only recommend their last album 'weltuntergangsstimmung'.
Y'all got spotify, right? you can check it there...

It starts out promising enough, since it sounds like the 1993 re-do. But the vocals had too many Andrew Eldritch corn-flakes for breakfast.
Also: it distinctly sounds like he says "Alice at her party dress..."
