Thanks everyone. I'm stupidly happy. Never thought I'd get a second act in all of this.

congratulations @sultan2075 how awesome for you both! it is wonderful that this has happened for you instead of becoming a grumpy old man enjoy the bliss
and congratulations @EvilBastard
hope the new job is enjoyable and lots of luck sent your way!
yesterday i had some really awesome news, one of my beloved friends, one of those that you did all your crazy partying and experimenting with drugs, in the days when we were young and carefree, let me know she is moving to the Netherlands at the end of the month! over the moon happy about that!
and
the postman arrived with a package for me this time on sunday evening was looking around on Si Denbigh's site where he sells his art which is really awesome and ordered myself a t-shirt with a red angel and it arrived so quickly
stunning design and his prices are really reasonable.
I'm waiting to hear about a painting of a gothy angel fantasy print and one thing is for sure darling Si is such a kind man. if you want to have a look see check out his site...www.archviolet.com it's really worth it!

"Thousands of anti-racism protesters take to streets across England to counter far-right rallies" - https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/art ... ht-rallies - this made me happy in the face of the last few days when I was starting to seriously worry about my country.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

At my age I'm gonna have to! I think tonight is our last big night out (except the wedding), and from here forward it's gonna be no drinking during the week and hitting the gym more (I'm moving my dumbbells up to my office since I'm now in a 40-hour-a-week position). But yeah, I am stupidly excited about it. I never thought I'd meet someone like her, let alone have a chance at parenthood. Life is unpredictable.eastmidswhizzkid wrote: ↑10 Aug 2024, 15:59aw being a dad is great. my son is 19 today & it really does fly by. make the most of every minute bro.sultan2075 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2024, 14:42Thank you so much! It’s 11:30 pm on the east coast of the United States.
At 3:00 tomorrow I’ll be getting married - again. I never thought I would.
Unlike the first time, we’re surrounded by friends and family - hers love me, mine love hers. We’re also buying a house and hopefully closing on it in less than two weeks. Hoping to have our first child by September.
I’ve never been happier. It’s strange and lovely. I don’t know if there’s a God, and if there is, I don’t know that He intervenes in human affairs, but since I met her everything in both my personal and professional lives have fallen into place - it’s enough to make one superstitious if not religious.
It’s well very strange. Life is good. Not something I’m terribly used to if I’m being honest.

@sultan2075
congratulations to you and your bride who is now your missus as it's 10h30 on a sunday morning here in the Netherlands.
maybe it's just the universe that allows for things to happen in our lives when we least expect it to.
it is wonderful that you are happy and that everything feels like it is right...the way it's meant to be.
so enjoy every moment from now on as that strange feeling will pass. you deserve this remember that.
only good things from now on

Congratulations to the two of you, sultan2075 ... ... enjoy this most wonderful day ... ... It might feel like a wonder, but sometimes things are just right, whatever the reason. Some kind of god or mechanics of the universe. It just works. So all the best wishes for what is to follow and with all your common dreams come true in full happiness ... ...

Congratulations! Quite a fairy tale ending for you.
Really nice sentence there. My own life has taken such a crazy, improbable arc lately that I can definitely relate to that type of feeling.sultan2075 wrote: ↑02 Nov 2024, 04:38 I don’t know if there’s a God, and if there is, I don’t know that He intervenes in human affairs, but since I met her everything in both my personal and professional lives have fallen into place - it’s enough to make one superstitious if not religious.
we forgive as we forget
Congratulation Sultan.
I still remember how great was to stand (in our case) in from of public/civil registrar, repearting the sentence of the oath, and how happy, proud, and confident I was.
Really happy for both of you.

Thank you all, sincerely. We’re spending the week avoiding election chaos and driving around upstate New York before crossing the border to Montreal. It’s nice to avoid all the election s**t too. Even my political scientist colleagues avoided it at the wedding!

What a moment to take a walk in the Heartlands and see news like this and be able to wish you both all the luck you can get! Very cool.

Heartfelt congratulations from WhizzWorld! My love life has been 'eventful' to say the least & nobody likes having their heart broken. But falling in love? thats one of the best things there is. Long may yours and Mrs Sultans last.
