In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. We are not talking about simply "bad" songs but songs that make you physically cringe and want to cut off your ear, right?

For me, the most recent would be Adele's version of "Make You Feel My Love". Sounds to me like she's confusing croaking like a drunk street hoooker with "emotional". And it's not the fact that it is ugly that is revolting me (am a great fan of Diamanda Galas and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan), but simply that it is so fake and forced.
Oh well, to my ears at least.

With male voices, a little hystery is quite to my liking, with female voices, I can't stand it. That's why I don't like listening to
Shakira either, however really adorable her belly dancing might be.

Anyway, all the songs I've mentioned represent some destructive (but obviously common-sense) idiot view to me,
and in a loudness that just goes way too far. A kind of blackmail and torture by cultural means.
