The ones I slowly fell out with between 1980 and the end of the eighties:
1. The m*****n
2. The Damned
3. U2

I think of the little things I've done in a genuine caring way. That resets my brain as I realize that I'm actually a good person. Went through a time of teaching basic maths and english to ex-offenders, and that was the most rewarding thing I've done. The thanklessness of it gives way to the genuin...

Many of the things that used to annoy me don't anymore. Went through a phase of hating the daft young lads with a band branded sweat band or brand new t shirt on - not a 'proper' fan. Now I think I was like that once - go on son. Used to loathe the sweaty shirtless - now I stand further back and enj...

My recommendation is... JUST GO SEE IT. Do what I did... watch the original on DVD, then go to the biggest screen you can find and watch it. No trailers, reviews or gossip. It was amazing - the visuals, the music, the story and effects. After half an hour you realize it is going to be OK - they have...

Thank Ye Kindly!

Had a great time, though time is on my mind. You can ignore 30 and 40, but 50 is a biggie. Keep seeing adverts for over fifties life cover. bastards.

All the best to all, and still big thoughts out to James B.

I'll never forget the Sisters at Leeds a good six years ago, with the music thumping, and moving to the back for a breather.
Standing at the back with him grinning like mad. Met a number of you nice chaps that night and he was one of them.
Followed him on Afterword for years, I'll miss him. :(

Just back from ChameleonVox last night at York. Thought they were amazing - knocked my socks off. They played selected tracks as chosen by fans last year.
Considering I've only seen Chameleons once at the York Rock Festival in '84 I did wait a long time. Will definitely be back for more!

Museums are free I can't think of any other than Beamish and there is a Mining museum up there somewhere. Its been years since I stayed in the N.E. Are you wanting to go away if not you could do days out to places looking where there are random interesting bands on. Just look for cheep gigs or free...

August freetime

For reasons that are too complex and unexpected to bore you with I have three weeks from 25th July to 20th August with a car, fuel and £200. With no responsibilities to burden me. I live in the north east. My musical interests are obvious. I am here. :D I love comedy, noise and physics. Hence why I...

Thanks doctor, I've never been convinced about Gangwar on record, but that footage has made me rethink. That's the sort of gig I miss!
It goes to show that some bands reveal themselves live.

I followed the martin lewis route, as markfiend. I found old credit card statement with ppi shown as deducted. I put a letter in with these copies and stated that it was never made clear to me that this was optional, and asked them to check my records. (I had four different cards at that time) One c...

FALAA discussed in new Quietus article

This has probably been covered elsewhere, but for those that missed it, the Quietus website posted an interesting FALAA Revisited article yesterday written by Julian Marszalek...
I like their articles as much for the comments as their text. :von:
